Lab Companion Partner: Tianjin University
Tianjin University, abbreviated as Tianjin University, formerly known as Beiyang University, was founded on October 2, 1895. It is the first modern university in China and paved the way for higher education in modern times. After the failure of the Sino Japanese War, the school was established in Tianjin with the educational purpose of "cultivating talents as the foundation of self-improvement and establishing schools as the priority of seeking talents". It was approved by Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty and was first supervised by Sheng Xuanhuai. The school was originally named Beiyang University, with a first-class school (undergraduate program) and a second-class school (university preparatory program). The first-class school has four subjects: law, engineering, mining, and machinery.
